January 2012 - Rob Wilson MP visits Caversham Park Tennis Club

Caversham Park Tennis Club and GDT were pleased to welcome Rob Wilson, Reading East MP, to the club in January 2012.

Rob was keen to see our new facilities and hit a few balls with our coaches from GDT and Jo-Anne Downing from LTA Berkshire.

10 April 2011 - Grand opening of our tennis clubhouse and open day

Our official clubhouse opening and open day was on Sunday 10 April and was attended by many current as well as prospective members.

We had amazing weather, fantastic tennis to watch, and this was also an historic day for Caversham Park Tennis Club.

The day included:

• Official opening of the new facilities by Roger Draper, LTA Chief Executive
• Exhibition match by ex-pro tennis players
• Award of Clubmark and Beacon status by Roger Draper
• Junior, mini and senior tennis
• Raffle with prizes kindly donated by a number of sponsors
• Fantastic food kindly prepared and served by our members

10 April 2011 - Caversham Park awarded Clubmark and Beacon status

We have recently been awarded Clubmark and Beacon status by Roger Draper, Chief Executive of the LTA.

Clubmark helps tennis clubs ensure that they are delivering a quality tennis development programme and operating in line with best practice.

According to the LTA Clubmark website all places to play awarded with Clubmark:

• Ensure the place to play has a fair and transparent operational structure
• Adhere to best practice policies and procedures around safeguarding junior and adult members/users
• Deliver a comprehensive and all encompassing tennis programme for all ages and abilities
• Produce a clear plan of action for long term sustainability and future growth

We have been awarded Beacon status, due to our commitment to providing affordable tennis to the local community.

Roger Draper awarded Caversham Park Tennis Club with Beacon status as part of the AEGON Parks Tennis programme, delivered in partnership with the LTA and Tennis Foundation. This is in recognition of our high quality and affordable community tennis programme run in partnership with GDT.

Caversham Park is delighted to be awarded both Clubmark and Beacon status - both of which would not have been possible without the hard work of our committee and coaching team.
